Auditions ~ 2013 - 2014

          Nutcracker  & Tangled

Date of Auditions ~ Saturday, August 24th

By appointment

Auditions will start at 10am and go every

15 minutes. See me to make an appointment.

For a part en pointe please audition en pointe.

There will be a $15 audition fee that will go toward

performances expenses. 

Eligibility ~ Anyone from Miss Haley's Ballet 6

last season and pre-pointe.

Lead role must be taking 3 adv ballets or more

and be available to rehearse up to 5 days a week.

Everyone else must take at least 2 adv ballets.

Requirements ~

Music ~ Any song you choose is fine minimum

of 2 minutes maximum of 3 minutes.

This year you may choose classical ballet or

contemporary ballet.

This must be original choreography.

Costume in you favorite color.

Leave 16 counts free. You will pick a piece of paper out of a hat that might say, Por de bras,

2 glissades a pas de chat and grand jete,

or leap combination etc…..

You will choose this when you arrive so you can 

think of how you would like to incorporate it.

The judges and I will ask you what part you 

are trying for, ask for your dream part but have some back ups. It might take more than 1 audition

to receive that dream part.

I can tell you now everyone will get a 

part might be a solo, duet, dancers auditioning

for the first time or younger dancers may 

end up in a corps piece.

Remember that seniority does factor in, a dancer 

auditioning for the first time most normally won't 

be cast as a lead, but I'm not saying never either.

I always like to have the Senior Girls graduating

be cast in a special part.

Remember every part is a important and whatever 

you get cast as own it, make it the best it can be

thats one of the things that makes great dancers.

All that being said there are other factors

that are involved in casting.

** Attitude ~ Which might be the most important

how your attitude is in class, toward the 

other dancers, toward the teachers.

Your manners in class are so important we watch

you all year decisions are not made on audition

alone.

**Attendance ~ Making it to class is so important

at this level you should let us know if you are not

going to be in class and why just as a courtesy.

Homework, Family, if you are ill are all great 

reasons obviously school and family should

take priority. 

**Those of you still in school must keep your grades

up. This is also very important to me.

**If you miss two rehearsals without letting me 

know you are in danger of losing your part.

It is your responsibility to make rehearsal time

with me or your choreographer.

I am always very excited for this process

and can't wait to see what you come up with.
