        DETAILED INFORMATION 

                 SPRING 2014

This years performances will be held at "The Old Towne Theater" 

(previously the Batting Cages,the owners are turning this building into a community theater I would like to support this venture so we can have another theater to use in this community.)

Combo Dancers(ages 3-5)- Your combo dancers will be performing in Rapunzel Saturday evening, May 24th the performance starts at

6:30p Your dancers are half way through the show so don't bring them until

7:15. They are welcome to perform again on Sunday, May 25th at 3p

please bring them at 4:15. If you decide to leave after your dancer performs

please wait until the following dance is over out of courtesy, all these dancers have worked so hard. You can leave the way you came in very quietly.

The combo students will have no rehearsals at the studio just a dress rehearsal at the theater on Tuesday May 20th at 5:30.

You also can make the choice of dancing both nights or just one

whatever your little ballerina would like.

 Costume Questions- Please see Michelle Ostrom or your dancer’s instructor.

A list will be posted at the studio. The information board that sits on the TV table in the studio has all the recital information you need.(Will be out any day)

Green Room for Performances-

We will direct you when you arrive at the theater.

We ask you not to stand back stage it is small and the noise carries to the audience, it can also be distracting to the dancers performing. Please do not bring juice or soda, water is ok. If you need to bring snacks make sure they are not sticky or greasy. 

For the younger dancers one of Dads old button up shirts is great to cover up their costumes. The little ones also get antsy so it's ok to bring coloring books or quiet games to keep them occupied while they are waiting. You can bring a blanket for them to sit on as well. 

If your dancers would like to watch the show after they have performed

please have them change out of their costumes,because it takes away from the magic.

Prices- General $10.00  Military, Seniors & Students $8 

(Also college students)

Children 10 and under $5

All soloists receive 2 tickets free and each family will receive 2 free tickets

for paying the performance fee.

Ads- See the front desk to purchase your personal ad. The deadline is May 16th at the very latest.

Dvds- We will have the performance recorded by the lovely Bowen Family thank you for your services. It will be ready shortly

after performances.

A collection of all our DVDs will be at performances for sale.

Volunteers Needed-

We can always use you support to make sure the performances run smoothly.

Thank you in advance for your support. I would also like to thank all of you, for supporting your dancers, bringing them to class every week and for all your encouragement. 

If you would like to help you can sign up at the front desk. We need volunteers in the following areas-

**Class parents (you will not miss your child dance you can stand side stage and watch) 

**Baked goods for intermission -  This will be a fund raiser to help pay performance costs.

**Collecting Tickets

**Handing out programs

**Helpers for intermission bake sale  *Dads for stage crew

Tuition -

Full Tuition is due for May please make sure all tuition and solo fees, costume fee’s and performance fee's etc.. are paid before we are at the theater. Thank you.

Rules and Theater Etiquette- Very Important

THERE CAN BE NO FOOD OR DRINKS IN THE THEATER AREA!

The following is a list of rules to ensure that the whole performance experience is a pleasant one. It takes a lot of patience and coordination

to put on a production with over 150 dancers. If your family has participated for several years keep your eyes open for those new dance families, they could use your support, the first performance can be a little overwhelming. Thank you.

** No flash photography, this can distract the dancers.

**Dancers ! Please pay close attention to the line up and when it is your time to go on. Some dancers have missed their queue because they were playing around and not paying attention.

**NO Video taping, it can be distracting to the audience and especially the dancers, we will be selecting the best footage from all the shows for the DVD.

**If you need to pick up your child after they have danced please wait until intermission or after the dance ends thats on stage. It is courteous to wait, remember the dancers on stage can see you leaving while they are

dancing they have all worked hard for their moment on the stage and it is hard to watch audience members leaving perhaps you could watch a

full performance.

** Please leave all jewelry at home.

**Please put your dancers name on EVERYTHING  it will be easier to find missing items after performance. Dance wear is expensive. We keep a lost and found at the theater and then at the studio after performance. If your dancer has more than one dance put their name on the hangers.

**Make-up - For all dancers with the exception of the advanced dancer.

Blush,soft blue or green eye shadow, rosy colored lipstick, mascara and darken the eyebrows if needed.

May 26th through the end of June ~ Studio will be closed.

Summer Program ~ Entire month of July

Advanced Intensive ~ Week of August 4th-8th

Dance Camp from 10-4 for serious dancers

older elementary to young Jr High.

Please let Miss Helene know if you are interested

we need a certain number to make the camp go.

August 9th ~ Auditions  10:30 ~??? Next year we will be doing Nutcracker in December and The Wizard of Oz in June (not May)

Show up in black and pink Hair in a bun, you may wear a black skirt.

Be prepared to take class and you will have about 30 sec to tell the judges whatever you like.

We purchased a new billing system this year

But we have had to learn the system and get set up.

I can't believe how fast this year has gone!!! Wow

Our performance dates are May 23rd Variety evening performance

It has been a wonderful year, thank you all for your 

Hard work and family support!

After performance we will be closed until our summer 

Program in July.

Tuition is due now for April.

Recital business -

There is a $20 performance fee per family 

You can begin to purchase personal ads for the program

Tickets will be available in the next 2 weeks

For those dancers that auditioned and have special rehearsal time those fees are due this month 

I will let you know how much, it will gaged on how much time spent.

We will be performing in the old towne theater same theater we used in December.
